"Wobblers": Wobblers "Atlanto-Axial-Subluxation" (Google) "With Wobblers the head slides over onto the spine, pinching it off, and causes the body to work VERY upsettingly (they can barely control their bodies and legs) to the dog and the owner and pain, in the neck, is significant during the event. Then the head slides back on straight and they're "pretty okay" til it happens again." The joint affected is the union of the Atlas (the bone that holds the head on) and the Axis (the bone that fits INTO the Atlas that keeps the head from spinning around like Linda Blair in the Exorcist) Those two bones slip and pinch the bejeezus out of the spinal cord and BAM down they go. It's sudden, and seems like the end-of-the-world - cause they flail and struggle and OFTEN cry because it's a migraine for the neck. Sometimes the dog will be down flailing behind the sofa like "how did you get there and why not just get up, silly?" and they're in a lot of pain. Some of the wobblers need surgery. We often try muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatories. Tryna avoid surgery. Doc Johnson |

Something else I found for my dog "Ajax" that's cool: |
Sporn Dog Halter STOPS "pulling and tugging" NOW. (Link) This is what I use now, with my dog Ajax. I used to use the Gentle Leader, but I didn't like including his face in the thing. Now, this just goes around his chest and he DOES NOT PULL ANY MORE. It's great! Amazon.com has it. | |
| You can buy a fat bundle of 'wet wipes' with Cetaphil and I'd recommend it. They're great for cleaning healing wounds, dirty ears, cleansing around some eyes, under-tails, surgery sites, sores. | |
